About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within an assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, ensuring safe delivery, resolving problems, and handling product returns when required. The position requires safe vehicle operation, careful product handling, accurate delivery records, and communication with customers, field sales, and store personnel. Drivers may work in varied weather and road conditions and are expected to be flexible to work different shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet motor vehicle record check requirements.
• Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Hold a DOT Medical Card when required.
• Be able to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.
• Be able to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Be able to lift and move large, bulky, and/or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Be able to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Have strong time-management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Have strong customer service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Have effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Be able to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Be able to navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Successfully complete all required training.
• Be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience.
• Experience using a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, or forklift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Make timely deliveries that meet or exceed scheduled delivery times.
• Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer when needed.
• Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the delivery vehicle is safe and ready.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and document any issues.
• Communicate with customers during deliveries to provide updates and address concerns.
• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
• Partner with the field sales team and store personnel to meet customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
