About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within an assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, ensuring safe delivery, resolving problems, and handling product returns as needed. The position involves operating and maintaining a delivery vehicle and equipment, including a trailer at times; loading and unloading products; completing vehicle inspections; and keeping accurate delivery records. The Delivery Specialist communicates with customers and works with field sales and store personnel to meet customer needs. This role requires driving in all weather and road conditions, working near mechanical equipment, and performing physical tasks such as lifting, moving, pushing, and pulling merchandise. The position is part-time and may involve various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years old.
Have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet MVR check requirements.
A DOT Medical Card is required as applicable.
Be able to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.
Be able to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate material handling equipment.
Be able to lift and move large, bulky, and/or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
Operate equipment related to the job efficiently, safely, properly, and accurately.
Use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
Have time-management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Have strong customer-service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members and customers.
Read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
Navigate using GPS systems and maps.
Successfully complete all required training.
Be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

Previous truck delivery experience.
Experience using a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, and forklift.
High school diploma or equivalent.
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Communicate with customers about deliveries and address their concerns.
Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
Partner with field sales team members and store personnel to satisfy customer needs.
Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
