About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers pizzas within a designated area and provides customer service while working both on the road and in the store. Drivers receive training in delivery tasks, pizza preparation, and other store activities, and may help the team when not making deliveries. The position offers opportunities to grow into store management or franchise ownership.

The role includes operating equipment, stocking ingredients and supplies, preparing products, receiving and processing phone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. Drivers must be able to work independently and with others, handle repetitive tasks and stressful situations, and meet quality standards.

Work may involve changing or adverse weather, a range of indoor temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot equipment and surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Physical activities include driving, standing, walking, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing or pulling trays, climbing stairs, bending, crouching, reaching, and continuous hand use.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Friendly, positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Reliable vehicle for deliveries.
• Proof of car insurance.
• Safe driving record that meets company standards.
• Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within the delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; a calculator may be used.
• Ability to make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to lift and unload deliveries weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform the physical activities required, including standing, walking, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, crouching, reaching, and continuous hand use.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pizzas within the designated delivery area.
• Provide customer service and process orders by phone and in person.
• Operate store equipment and help with in-store tasks, including preparing products.
• Stock ingredients and supplies from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Unload product deliveries using a hand truck and move supplies to storage.
• Navigate delivery routes, addresses, adverse terrain, and stairs as needed.
