About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area and delivers flyers and door hangers. Drivers may make several deliveries per shift and must travel between the store, delivery vehicle, and customer locations, including multi-story buildings and private homes. The position also performs general store-team duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients and supplies, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. Orientation and on-the-job training are provided.

The work involves navigating varied terrain and stairs while carrying products, as well as working in varying weather conditions. Store conditions include temperature changes, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, food odors, cornmeal dust, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Physical activities include standing, walking, lifting and carrying items, pushing or pulling trays, occasional climbing, repeated bending, occasional crouching, continuous reaching, and frequent hand use.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record that meets company standards.
• Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly and make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Ability to perform the physical tasks described, including carrying pizzas and beverages, walking, and climbing; delivery may involve navigating five or more flights of stairs.
• Far vision and night vision for driving.
• Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.

Responsibilities
