About The Position

Pacific Coast Fruit Company is hiring a full-time Delivery Driver for its Portland, Oregon location. The role involves delivering produce orders to retail customers, checking shipments for accurate piece counts and damage, and coordinating any order irregularities with receiving personnel. For some commodities, the driver also merchandises products and takes orders in the store for the following day's delivery. The position offers a stated wage of $21.00 per hour and includes benefits and opportunities for advancement. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Requirements

Clean driving record.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and stack or unstack products on pallets.
Ability to work some weekends and holidays.
Passion for meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to speak, read, and write in English to understand and process paperwork.
Attention to detail.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

Make an average of 7 to 15 deliveries, depending on the day of the week.
Check every order being delivered for accurate piece count and damage.
Deliver shipments to the proper locations within customers' facilities.
Bring order irregularities, including quality issues and returns, to the attention of receiving personnel.
Complete a signed manifest before departure.
For certain commodities, merchandise products in stores and take orders for the following day's delivery.
