About The Position

Beverage South (GA/SC) is hiring a Delivery Merchandiser Driver with a Class A CDL to deliver products to licensed local accounts on assigned routes. The role works under regular supervision, Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, and is home every night. Duties include delivering products, merchandising and rotating stock, collecting payments and returns, completing daily reconciliations and deposits, and following company quality-assurance, fleet-safety, and DOT procedures.

Requirements

Complete the company training program.
Have in-depth knowledge of company products, including brands, packages, and product benefits, as well as company policies, procedures, and operations.
Know state laws regarding the sale of alcohol.
Maintain grooming and hygiene appropriate for good customer relations.
Adapt to a flexible schedule without a daily routine.
High school degree or equivalent.
Class A CDL and DOT Medical Card.
Interpersonal skills to deal with customers effectively and professionally.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; basic ability to complete and balance a deposit against product sold.
Ability to understand the basic operation of handheld units and associated software.
Meet the role’s physical demands, including continuous standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, repetitive pushing and pulling, and lifting and carrying products.

Nice To Haves

Three to six months of commercial driving experience preferred.
Prior route sales or delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Follow all check-in and check-out policies and procedures.
Safeguard assigned products, vehicles, and equipment from theft, abuse, or loss.
Sign for load sheets and verify the number of pallets.
Review daily stop sheets and notify the Delivery Supervisor or Distribution Manager about missing accounts.
Drive a truck to deliver ordered products to assigned accounts.
Honor customer requests authorized by management.
Stock and rotate existing and delivered products on shelves and in back stock.
Set up promotional displays as assigned by the salesperson.
Add or replace point-of-sale materials as directed through daily handheld communications.
Collect empty kegs and out-of-date products, and pick up products damaged by a Beverage South employee or affected by a manufacturer defect.
Collect delivery payments by check or money order; provide customers with invoices, record adjustments, obtain customer signatures, and sign invoices as the driver.
Complete daily check-in procedures and reconciliation, including the deposit, and verify deposit totals against computer totals.
Report market trends and competitive activity to a supervisor and recommend a response when appropriate.
Chock truck wheels whenever backing into a Beverage South dock.
Inspect equipment daily, including vehicle fluid levels; report maintenance or performance problems; clean cab trash and sweep the trailer daily.
Operate the company vehicle according to the Fleet Safety Manual, report company and personal vehicle accidents immediately, follow the company accident policy, and comply with DOT regulations.
Perform other duties as determined by the Distribution Manager or Supervisor.
