About The Position

This position delivers products from Sherwin-Williams stores to customers using box and flat-bed trucks. The driver ensures deliveries are complete, correctly packed, and safely delivered to the right customer, while supporting customer satisfaction and transporting items safely and on time. The role also involves customer contact, which may include minors, and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other valuable items. Sherwin-Williams has determined that a criminal-history review is necessary to protect its business, operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.

The position is based at Store #5788, 276 Falmouth Road, Unit 1, Hyannis, MA 02601. In addition to delivery work, the driver may perform store and warehouse duties, tint and mix customer orders, and assist customers.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without now or in the future requiring sponsorship for an employment work visa.
• Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
• Must have a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) from a DOT-licensed medical examiner listed on the FMCSA National Registry, or be willing to obtain one within five business days of receiving a conditional offer of employment.
• Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and occasionally up to 70 lbs.
• Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
• Internal Sherwin-Williams applicants must have received at least a “meets expectations” (3) rating on their most recent performance appraisal.
• Internal Sherwin-Williams applicants must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for their current position.

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience working as a delivery driver.
• At least one year of work experience using material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, or conveyor belts.
• Previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Prepare deliveries to meet customer requirements efficiently.
• Load customer orders properly onto the truck.
• Complete appropriate forms.
• Load, transport, and deliver items safely and on time.
• Maintain the store vehicle and alert the supervisor to repair or servicing needs.
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle customer complaints.
• Follow assigned routes and time schedules.
• Comply with transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
• Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
• Operate equipment and machines, including cars, trucks, and forklifts.
• Perform other store tasks, including warehouse duties, tinting and mixing customer orders, and waiting on customers.
