About The Position

This full-time position delivers products, including hazardous materials, from Sherwin-Williams stores to customers using box and flat-bed trucks. The driver ensures deliveries are complete, correctly packed, and safely delivered to the right customer, while supporting customer satisfaction and transporting items safely and on time. The role is based at Store #721031, 250 Royal Dr., Bldg. 2, Madison, AL 35758, with starting pay of $20.00 per hour.

The role involves customer contact, including possible contact with minors, and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other valuables. Sherwin-Williams has determined that a criminal-history review is necessary to protect its business, operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.

In addition to delivery work, the driver may perform store tasks such as warehouse duties, tinting and mixing customer orders, and serving customers. The position requires a valid, unrestricted CDL with a hazardous materials endorsement and a valid DOT medical examiner’s certificate, or willingness to obtain one within five business days of receiving a conditional employment offer. Candidates must be at least 21, legally authorized to work in the country of employment without current or future sponsorship, able to meet the stated lifting requirements with or without reasonable accommodation, willing to work scheduled hours that may include evenings and weekends, and sufficiently proficient in English for the communication and recordkeeping duties described.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing employment-visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Have a valid, unrestricted Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a hazardous materials endorsement.
• Have a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) from a DOT-licensed medical examiner listed on the FMCSA National Registry, or be willing to obtain one within five business days of receiving a conditional offer of employment.
• Be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
• Be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience working as a delivery driver.
• At least one year of work experience using material-handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, or conveyor belts.
• Previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Prepare deliveries to meet customer requirements efficiently.
