About The Position

This full-time position delivers products, including hazardous materials, to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores using box and flat-bed trucks. The driver ensures deliveries are complete, correctly packed, and safely delivered to the correct customer, and is accountable for customer satisfaction and transporting items safely and on time. The role is based at Store #708091, 9165 Ridgetop BLVD NW, Silverdale, WA 98383, and pays $25.75 per hour. The job involves contact with customers, which may include minors, and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other valuable items. Sherwin-Williams states that it conducts a criminal history review to protect its business, operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public. In addition to driving and deliveries, the employee may perform store and warehouse duties, tint and mix customer orders, and wait on customers.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without current or future employment visa sponsorship.
Must have a valid, unrestricted Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a hazardous materials endorsement.
Must have a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) from a DOT-licensed medical examiner listed on the FMCSA National Registry, or be willing to obtain one within five business days of receiving a conditional offer.
Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds.
Must be willing, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
Must read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
For current Sherwin-Williams employees: must have received at least a “meets expectations” (3) rating on the most recent performance appraisal.
For current Sherwin-Williams employees: must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for the current position.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least one year of experience working as a delivery driver.
At least one year of work experience using material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, or conveyor belts.
Previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.

Responsibilities

Prepare deliveries to meet customer requirements efficiently.
Load customer orders properly onto the truck.
Ensure appropriate forms are completed.
Load, transport, and deliver items to customers safely and on time.
Maintain the store vehicle and alert the supervisor to repair and servicing needs.
Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle customer complaints.
Follow assigned routes and time schedules.
Abide by transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
Operate equipment and machines such as cars, trucks, and forklifts.
Perform other store tasks, including warehouse duties, tinting and mixing customer orders, and waiting on customers.
