About The Position

Intercity Packers Ltd. is seeking a Delivery Driver at its Richmond location. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Transportation Supervisor. The Delivery Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of meat and seafood products to customers, ensuring product integrity and customer satisfaction. The company is the largest meat/seafood distribution company in Western Canada and part of the Gordon Food Service (GFS) Canada group. Requirements

  • Class 5 unrestricted driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
  • Flexibility to work on weekends
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to changes in priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience driving a three or five-ton truck is preferred
  • Basic understanding of the cold chain process is preferred
  • Basic understanding of technology is an asset
  • Knowledge of the food industry is an asset
  • Familiarity with routes and the lower mainland is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver all meat and seafood products in a safe and professional manner
  • Perform and complete pre-truck inspection forms (i.e. check tires and fluid levels)
  • Ensure the preloaded truck includes all tools for success during the route (pallet straps, hand cart, pen, clipboard, load bars and all necessary paperwork)
  • Ensure refrigerated trucks maintain the required temperatures throughout the delivery
  • Accurately document and complete proof of delivery, driver delivery log and track the temperature of the truck
  • Handle customer complaints and returns of unwanted product
  • Collect cheques upon delivery
  • Follow computer-based RoadNet from Gordon Food Services
