About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers food orders by car to customers’ doors and distributes flyers and door hangers. The role also performs general hourly store-team-member duties, including operating equipment, stocking ingredients and supplies, preparing products, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position involves customer and coworker communication, order entry, handling payments, and working in a fast-paced store environment. Delivery work includes driving within a designated area, navigating to customer addresses and delivery locations, and carrying orders between the store, vehicle, and customer. Work may involve adverse weather, varied temperatures, stairs, and other physical demands.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record that meets company standards.
Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries.
Navigational skills, including the ability to read a map and locate addresses in the designated delivery area.
Ability to navigate adverse terrain and delivery locations, including private homes and multi-story buildings.
Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and coworkers in person and by telephone.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly and make correct monetary change.
Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
Motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise movements quickly and accurately.
Ability to use a computer keyboard or touch screen to enter orders.
Ability to stand and walk for most tasks and meet the physical demands of carrying, lifting, pushing, climbing, bending, crouching, reaching, and repeated hand use.
Ability to lift and stock cases weighing up to 50 pounds and carry other food products and supplies.
Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality standards, and make judgments and decisions.
Far vision and night vision for driving.

Responsibilities

Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area.
Deliver flyers and door hangers.
Operate store equipment.
Stock ingredients and supplies from the delivery area into storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
Prepare products.
Receive and process telephone orders, including entering orders by computer keyboard or touch screen.
Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
Carry customer orders between the store, delivery vehicle, and customer location.
Navigate to delivery addresses, including multi-story buildings and other delivery sites.
