About The Position

The Delivery Driver operates equipment and performs in-store food preparation and customer-service tasks, as well as delivering orders by car to customers. Duties include stocking ingredients, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, cleaning equipment and the facility, and distributing flyers and door hangers. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The role involves working in a restaurant environment with varying temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and cramped spaces. Team members generally perform tasks standing and may walk between the store, vehicle, and customer locations. The work also involves handling supplies and food products, using a hand truck and dollies, and occasionally navigating stairs or ladders.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
Ability to comprehend and provide correct written instructions.
Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, and to make correct monetary change.
Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
Motor coordination between eyes and hands or fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
Ability to navigate adverse terrain and carry product at delivery sites.
Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
Ability to handle cases weighing up to 50 pounds and perform the physical activities described in the posting, including standing, walking, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, crouching, and reaching.
Ability to work in varying and sometimes adverse weather, changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
Ability to perform tasks requiring talking and hearing on the telephone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and differentiation between hot and cold surfaces.

Responsibilities

Operate all equipment.
Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
Prepare product.
Receive and process telephone orders.
Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
Deliver product by car to customers’ doors within the designated delivery area.
Deliver flyers and door hangers.
Unload bulk product deliveries using a hand truck and stock cases on shelves.
Use a computer keyboard or touch screen to enter orders.
Navigate delivery sites, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other locations.
