About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within the assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a Legendary Customer Experience by building trusted relationships, offering seasoned advice, delivering products safely, resolving problems, and handling returns as needed. The position involves operating and maintaining a delivery vehicle and related equipment, loading and unloading merchandise, communicating with customers and store personnel, and complying with traffic laws and company policies. Drivers work in assigned markets in all weather and road conditions.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet motor vehicle record check requirements.
• Must have a DOT Medical Card as required.
• Must be able to safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Must be able to lift and move large, bulky, and/or heavy merchandise.
• Must be able to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with proper material-handling equipment.
• Must be able to operate job-related equipment safely, properly, efficiently, and accurately.
• Must have time-management skills and be able to meet tight deadlines.
• Must have strong customer-service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members and customers.
• Must be able to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Must be able to navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Must successfully complete required training.
• Must be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience.
• Experience using a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, or forklift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Make timely deliveries that meet or exceed scheduled delivery times.
• Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer when needed.
• Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and document issues.
• Communicate with customers to provide updates and address concerns.
• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
• Partner with the field sales team and store personnel to meet customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
