About The Position

Acme’s Delivery Drivers represent the company on the road and at customer job sites. They load trucks, review orders for accuracy, and deliver goods on time along assigned routes while providing professional, friendly, and courteous customer service. Drivers also assist warehouse personnel when deliveries are complete and no further deliveries are scheduled.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to interact with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of and adherence to safe warehouse and job-site practices.
• Self-discipline and ability to identify and complete critical tasks independently and with urgency.
• Ability to analyze information quickly and make sound decisions.
• Ability to collaborate with a wide range of people inside and outside the company.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to a height of 3–4 feet and load product into trucks.
• Ability to operate a dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift safely when loading and unloading supplies.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of one year of experience in a driving position is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the company vehicle safely and courteously while following the rules of the road.
• Verify daily preventative vehicle maintenance and report vehicle problems to the Warehouse Manager.
• Keep the truck interior clean, organized, and safely maintained.
• Maintain current knowledge of and comply with DOT and company requirements and standards.
• Immediately notify a supervisor of problems involving DOT requirements, driving-record status, or medical certification.
• Pre-plan deliveries and routes to maximize efficiency and meet timing deadlines.
• Compare paperwork with the truck’s product to verify order accuracy.
• Inspect and secure all loads on the truck.
• Deliver products and orders to specified job sites as part of multi-stop routes, using a forklift and/or hand unloading.
• Record discrepancies and report them to the Warehouse Manager as soon as possible.
• Assist warehouse personnel with needed tasks when deliveries are complete and no further deliveries are scheduled.
