About The Position

Responsible for processing and delivery of Mobile Meals, meals/products to Mobile Meals clients. This role involves organizing deliveries, maintaining timely service, monitoring clients, documenting deliveries, reporting issues, attending training, and representing Mobile Meals positively in the community. The driver is expected to maintain a neat work area, foster a cooperative environment, and comply with all agency policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Math skills required.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation; vehicle must meet all safety and maintenance requirements of the State Highway Patrol inspection.
  • Must be able to work flexible daytime hours.
  • Must have a good driving record.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License.
  • Ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability if applicable.
  • Ability to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation) if applicable.
  • Compliance with AFS’ written standards, including its Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • GPS skills preferred but not required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Organize the delivery by order of clients and products, including mapping and making necessary routing changes.
  • Maintain timely meal delivery and report client concerns to appropriate Mobile Meals staff.
  • Monitor clients as needed, as drivers may be the only human interaction clients receive.
  • Document meal delivery according to policies set forth by Mobile Meals and its funders.
  • Obtain and complete all other necessary documentation as required by Mobile Meals Policy and/or funders.
  • Report delivery problems as required.
  • Attend training sessions as required, including annual classes on vehicle maintenance, safety, and driving techniques.
  • Perform all duties as assigned.
  • Represent Mobile Meals positively to the community.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Foster a cooperative and accountable work environment.
  • Comply with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.
