About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area and may deliver flyers and door hangers. The role also performs general store-team duties, including operating equipment, stocking ingredients and supplies, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

The position requires a valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle for deliveries. Drivers need navigational skills to locate addresses and must be able to travel across varied terrain, including private homes, delivery sites, and multi-story buildings. The job involves customer and coworker communication, order entry, handling money, and physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, reaching, bending, and climbing. Work may take place in changing or adverse weather and in store areas with varying temperatures, hot surfaces, food odors, dust, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Must be able to read maps and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Must be able to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders over the phone and in person.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed, and make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination between eyes and hands or fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Ability to stand for most tasks and walk short distances for short durations.
• Ability to lift and handle deliveries weighing up to 50 pounds and stock items on shelves up to 72 inches high.
• Ability to carry products during deliveries and climb stairs, potentially five or more flights.
• Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to perform the physical tasks described, including bending, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, and frequent hand use.
