About The Position

The Delivery Driver operates equipment, stocks ingredients and supplies, prepares products, receives and processes telephone orders, takes inventory, completes paperwork, and cleans equipment and the facility. The role delivers products by car to customers and distributes flyers and door hangers. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

The position involves working in a restaurant environment and making several deliveries per shift within a designated delivery area. Work may involve exposure to varying weather, changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Physical activities include standing, walking, driving, lifting and carrying supplies and orders, pushing or pulling trays, climbing stairs, bending, crouching, and reaching.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Ability to understand and provide correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed, and make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination to make precise, rapid movements with the eyes, hands, and fingers.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the delivery area.
• Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to perform the physical duties described, including lifting cases weighing up to 50 pounds and carrying products during deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment.
• Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare product.
• Receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Deliver products by car to customers' doors within the designated delivery area.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Unload bulk product deliveries using a hand truck and stock supplies.
• Navigate delivery sites, including multi-story buildings, while carrying products.
