About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area and may deliver flyers and door hangers. The role also performs general store-team duties, including operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

The work involves driving and navigating to customer locations, including adverse terrain, private homes, multi-story buildings, and stairs. It also includes standing, walking, lifting and carrying supplies and products, and completing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced store environment. Team members may encounter adverse weather, temperature changes, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Must be able to read a map, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by telephone and in person.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; a calculator may be used.
• Must be able to make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination to make precise, rapid movements with the eyes, hands, and fingers.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to perform the stated physical tasks, including standing, walking, lifting and carrying products, reaching, bending, occasional crouching or squatting, and navigating stairs.
• Ability to carry products while walking and climbing during deliveries; delivery routes may require navigating five or more flights of stairs.
• Ability to handle cases weighing up to 50 pounds.
