About The Position

We are looking for a friendly, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Delivery Driver/Warehouse Teammate. This role involves operating trucks safely, loading and unloading merchandise, ensuring order accuracy, collecting payments, resolving customer issues, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness and safety. You will also be responsible for receiving and stocking inventory, monitoring stock levels, and operating warehouse equipment.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • 1+ years warehouse or material handling experience
  • Ability to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
  • At least 21 years old (as a non-CDL driver)
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license
  • Driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver
  • Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and at least every two years thereafter.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing driving motor vehicles, including commercial motor vehicles subject to DOT regulations.
  • Ability to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Ability to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to learn and operate computer-related systems used in the delivery process.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Load the truck with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered, ensuring it is properly secured.
  • Understand shipping documents and have accurate directions to each delivery destination.
  • Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy.
  • Unload correct merchandise from the truck and place it as directed by the receiving party.
  • Obtain legible signatures for all delivered merchandise.
  • Collect and secure outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries.
  • Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies.
  • Load the truck with merchandise from other locations (vendors, customer returns, other wholesalers).
  • Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses.
  • Inspect the truck and required parts/accessories for safe operating condition before departure.
  • Keep the truck clean.
  • Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
  • Complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report if a defect or deficiency is found (for vehicles over 10,001 lbs GVWR).
  • Remove keys from the truck at the end of the workday and store them in the approved location.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
  • Receive, count, and verify incoming shipments.
  • Stock the warehouse and maintain cleanliness, order, and safety.
  • Load/unload trucks and operate a forklift safely.
  • Monitor inventory levels and stock depletions.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety, removing debris.
  • Inform immediate supervisor of safety issues.
