The company functions in a decentralized environment where each location, called a Profit Center (PC), is managed as a small business. Dahl, a trade name of Hajoca, is seeking a Delivery Driver/Warehouse Teammate for its Castle Rock, CO location. This role requires a friendly, detail-oriented, safety-conscious individual who enjoys working independently and providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent
1+ years warehouse or material handling experience
Ability to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
Must be at least 21 years old (as a non-CDL driver)
Possess a proper and valid driver’s license
Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver
Able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and at least every two years thereafter
Know the laws, rules, and regulations governing driving motor vehicles, including commercial motor vehicles subject to DOT regulations
Able to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment
Able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers
Able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations
Able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment
Able to learn and operate computer-related systems used in the delivery process
Read, write, speak, and understand English
Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Responsibilities

Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations, delivering to job sites, customer facilities, vendor facilities, other Hajoca locations, or other directed locations.
Load trucks with merchandise, ensuring proper securement to prevent shifting, damage, or falling.
Ensure necessary equipment for safe unloading is available.
Understand shipping documents and have accurate directions to each delivery destination.
Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy.
Unload correct merchandise and place it as directed by the receiving party.
Obtain legible signatures for all delivered merchandise per Company policy.
Collect and secure outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries before releasing material.
Resolve shipping discrepancies with customers at the delivery site.
Load trucks with merchandise from vendor locations, customer returns, and other wholesalers.
Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses.
Inspect the truck and required parts/accessories for safe operating condition before departure.
Keep the truck clean.
Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
Complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report for vehicles over 10,001 lbs. GVWR if a defect or deficiency is found.
Remove keys from the truck at the end of the workday and store them in the approved location.
Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs.
Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
Receive, count, and verify incoming shipments.
Stock the warehouse and maintain cleanliness, order, and safety.
Load/unload trucks and operate a forklift safely.
Monitor inventory levels and stock depletions that could impact customer service.
Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety, removing debris and informing supervisors of safety issues.
