About The Position

Empire Coating Inc is currently seeking a dedicated Delivery Driver / Material Handler. This role is a vital link in the company's production chain, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials that power operations. The position offers a unique balance of road time and hands-on warehouse work, with four days a week spent driving a box truck and the fifth day dedicated to working on-site in the warehouse and on the loading dock. Empire Coating Inc, established in 1989, is Western New York's leading coating applicator, providing cost-effective, high-quality finishing for industries such as aerospace, automotive, electronics, medical, and military. Their capabilities include Chem Film, Paint, Powdercoat, Industrial Printing, Masking, Solid Film Lube, and Blasting. Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Box Truck Driver
  • Previous experience in warehouse, or other related field strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Ability to drive a forklift
  • Pre-employment DOT physical (cost is the responsibility of the applicant)

Nice To Haves

  • Current forklift license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate a 26' Box Truck as needed (minimum 4 days / week)
  • Safely transporting goods or passengers to their destinations
  • Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring it is secure and protected
  • Operate forklift and/or pallet jack
  • Logging miles, driving hours, and other activities to comply with federal and state laws
  • Conducting vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
  • Navigating routes using GPS, Geotab and other technology provided by the company
  • Completing necessary paperwork related to deliveries or driving
  • Report any issues or incidents immediately to dispatch
  • Develop strong relationships that create trust with our customers
  • Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, safety glasses) as required on all customer sites
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Operate forklift to safely load and unload materials from trucks and trailers
  • Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and loading docks
  • Complete delivery paperwork as needed
  • Perform routine maintenance
  • Comply with company policies and guidelines
  • Update inventory, lists, records, and log all completed tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
