About The Position

Meyer is seeking an experienced Box Truck Driver to drive company trucks on customer delivery routes, complete required paperwork, and work with internal departments to ensure timely deliveries while complying with DOT regulations. The role involves driving 26–28-foot box trucks or other commercial motor vehicles over 10,001 pounds, maneuvering trucks for loading and unloading, inspecting vehicles, and communicating maintenance needs to Fleet Management. The position requires heavy lifting of 75 pounds or more. The position pays $22.00 per hour and follows a Monday–Friday schedule, generally from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. End times vary on most days depending on workload and coverage. A quarterly driver safety bonus is offered.

Requirements

1–3 years of experience driving 26–28-foot box trucks or another commercial motor vehicle over 10,001 pounds.
Valid truck driver license and the relevant endorsement for the specific state.
Willingness to submit to drug screens and background checks.
Maintain a valid DOT medical examiner’s card.
No recent moving or driving violations and ability to remain insurable at the standard insurance market rate.
Ability to operate and drive a forklift.

Responsibilities

Drive company trucks on customer delivery routes and meet delivery schedules.
Maneuver trucks into position for loading and unloading.
Comply with truck-driving rules and regulations.
Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns, and perform preventative maintenance.
Report defects, accidents, and violations.
Complete paperwork required by the company and DOT regulations.
Communicate with Fleet Management about maintenance issues and preventative maintenance of delivery trucks.
Operate and drive a forklift.
Perform heavy lifting of 75 pounds or more.
