About The Position

Meyer is seeking an experienced Box Truck Driver to drive company trucks on route deliveries, complete required paperwork, and work with internal departments to ensure products reach customers on time while complying with DOT regulations. The role involves driving non-CDL box trucks, loading and unloading deliveries, inspecting and maintaining vehicles, reporting defects and incidents, and coordinating maintenance with Fleet Management. The position requires heavy lifting of 75 pounds or more. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; end times vary on most days based on workload and coverage. Requirements

1–3 years of previous experience driving 26–28-foot box trucks or another commercial motor vehicle over 10,001 pounds.
Valid truck driver license and the relevant endorsement for the specific state.
Willingness to submit to drug screens and background checks.
Maintain a valid DOT medical examiner’s card.
No recent moving or driving violations and ability to remain insurable at the standard insurance market rate.
Ability to operate and drive a forklift.

Responsibilities

Drive company trucks on route deliveries and meet delivery schedules.
Maneuver trucks into position for loading and unloading.
Comply with truck-driving rules and regulations.
Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns and perform preventative maintenance.
Report defects, accidents, and violations.
Complete paperwork required by company and DOT regulations.
Communicate with Fleet Management about maintenance issues and preventative maintenance for delivery trucks.
Perform heavy lifting of 75 pounds or more.
