About The Position

The Delivery and Installation Technician I delivers and installs products in a professional, courteous, and safe manner to create a positive customer experience. The role also includes shipping and receiving products. The technician works under the direction of the Warehouse Manager and/or Delivery Manager. The workday starts between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. and ends when the daily route is complete. The employee meets and ends the day at 4399 1st Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402. Compensation is $18.00 per hour plus tips.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license for local travel.
Successfully pass pre-employment and annual motor vehicle record checks to drive on behalf of the company.
Successfully complete DOT certification to drive on behalf of the company.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, 100 pounds occasionally, and 200 or more pounds as a team lift or with material handling equipment.
Ability to climb a ladder, grasp small objects, and maintain visual acuity for operating mechanical tools of the trade.
Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, and reach.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of delivery and assembly experience with a strong customer-service-oriented background is preferred.

Responsibilities

Load delivery trucks and verify that the correct products are loaded.
Deliver products into customers’ homes or facilities safely and appropriately to prevent damage and injuries.
Assemble products correctly and efficiently, ensuring they are in safe working order before leaving the delivery site.
Maintain a safe driving record and DOT card for operating company vehicles.
Maintain cooperative working relationships with company employees, customers, owners, and vendors.
Deliver products to and remove products from state fairs, home and garden shows, model homes, and other special events.
Understand and follow safety policies.
Regularly inspect company vehicles to ensure they are in satisfactory operating condition.
Ensure timely invoicing of deliveries and installations.
Safekeep fuel cards and company-issued credit cards and ensure their authorized use.
Complete other projects as assigned.
Maintain the work environment to 5S standards.
Begin work and return from lunch and breaks on time.
Complete paperwork and database entries fully and accurately.
Promote a positive team atmosphere with coworkers.
