About The Position

The Deli team member serves AC&T customers promptly and courteously while preparing food and helping make each shopping and dining experience pleasurable. This position works in the Kitchen department and reports to the Kitchen Manager. The role includes assisting deli-counter customers, preparing and packaging food, maintaining clean and ready work areas, and following company and regulatory food-safety and sanitation procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Deli-counter or food-preparation experience may be required.
Ability to lift items weighing 25 to 50 pounds.
Ability to operate equipment such as meat and cheese slicers, scales, and cash registers.
Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
Ability to understand and follow company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
Courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions, and complaints.

Nice To Haves

One year of deli or kitchen experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide responsive, exceptional service to deli-counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests.
Recommend, slice, weigh, package, and price meats and cheeses.
Prepare sandwiches, subs, salads, and other cold items for resale.
Prepare special orders and party trays.
Prepare work areas for customer service by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors; removing trash; and confirming tools are in working order.
Follow company and regulatory-agency food-safety and sanitation procedures.
Cooperate with others to ensure customer satisfaction.
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned or required.
