About The Position

As a Deli Clerk at Broulim’s, you’ll serve customers in the deli department and provide a diverse selection of high-quality deli products. The role includes slicing meats and cheeses, preparing deli trays, and helping create a positive shopping experience in a fast-paced environment. You’ll also help maintain the deli area, handle products and inventory, and work with team members to support department goals. The position is non-exempt and reports to the Deli Manager. Applicants must be at least 16 years old to operate fryers and the oven, and at least 18 years old to operate the slicer.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Customer-focused, positive, and friendly attitude.
Knowledge of basic deli products and preparation techniques.
Ability to handle deli department equipment safely.
At least 16 years old to operate fryers and the oven; at least 18 years old to operate the slicer.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts.
Adaptability to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Previous experience in a deli or customer service role is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist deli customers by providing product information and recommendations.
Slice, weigh, and package deli meats and cheeses according to customer specifications.
Create and assemble deli trays and platters for special orders, events, and catering orders.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the deli counter area, including sanitizing equipment regularly.
Receive, inspect, and stock deli products, rotating inventory to ensure freshness.
Operate deli equipment, such as slicers and scales, in accordance with safety guidelines.
Collaborate with team members to achieve department goals and contribute to a positive working environment.
