About The Position

Deli Helper Clerks provide excellent customer service at the deli counter and other deli stations. They perform basic food preparation, package deli items, and clean in the deli area. The role may also provide counter and barista service when needed during business operating hours. Clerks become knowledgeable about deli products, specialty foods, baked goods, and prepared foods, and help ensure department sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are met.

The position is located at 9803 Edmonds Way, Edmonds, Washington. Entry wage is $17.63 per hour, with a top-of-scale wage of $21.25 per hour. An additional $1.50 per hour night differential applies when applicable. Deli Helper Clerks receive a $0.75 increase upon reaching the 4,160-hours step.

Requirements

• Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service.
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic math skills for measurement and scale functions.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing, twisting, bending, repetitive motion, and regularly lifting 10–40 pounds.
• A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous food preparation experience preferred.
• Knowledge of specialty and prepared foods preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, professional customer service.
