About The Position

The Deli Dishwasher delivers customer service to guests at the Deli counter and on the sales floor. The role is responsible for washing dishes and utensils used by the Deli and Bakery Departments and keeping the Deli Department clean, sanitary, and organized. The position serves customers, maintains department equipment and spaces, supports new associate training, and assists with other Deli Department duties as needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old because the role requires operating Deli equipment.
• Eagerness to interact with customers.
• Strong sense of teamwork and ability to anticipate team needs.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and efficiently.
• Ability to take initiative and make independent decisions about department needs and priorities under general supervision.
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and push or pull for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve Deli Department customers by greeting, engaging, delighting, and thanking guests while modeling Sendik’s culture and customer service.
• Wash, sanitize, dry, and put away dishes and utensils.
• Empty and load the dishwasher.
• Clean equipment, including the dishwasher, Grind 2 Energy machine, and deli slicers.
• Clean the Deli Department, including countertops, floors, hot and cold bars, and deli cases.
• Assist with training and mentoring new Deli Department associates.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety and sanitation regulations and procedures.
• Assist with other Deli Department duties as needed.
