About The Position

The Deli CMS Lead supports the Deli Department Manager in delivering an excellent guest experience and helping make everyday eating extraordinary. The role assists in leading the team, maintaining an attractive and well-run department, coaching team members, resolving problems, and serving as acting manager when needed. It reports to the Deli Department Manager and reflects a culture of leadership, hospitality, excellence, and teamwork.

The position pays $23.15–$26.70 per hour and requires a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The work includes physical activity such as repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds, exposure to extreme temperatures, and extended periods standing or walking. Team members must wear approved head coverings and personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or general business.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Proven ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience while achieving performance goals.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Basic proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, grasp, bend, and reach.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, including up to 4 hours without a break or as required by law.
• Ability to use knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Ability to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree in business, retail management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in grocery, fresh food retail, hospitality, or a high-volume specialty retail environment.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems and financial reporting.
• Bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

• Help monitor labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels, minimizing shrink, and supporting ordering processes.
• Act as a resource for team members and provide guidance in the manager’s absence.
• Model and coach “Impeccable Hospitality” by engaging guests and creating positive experiences.
• Help implement merchandising strategies and promotional plans to maximize sales and profitability.
• Assist in analyzing department financial and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with fellow department leaders to support overall store success.
• Use available technology to perform job tasks.
• Teach and coach team members and celebrate their successes.
• Step in as acting manager when needed.
