About The Position

This is a part-time position for a Deli Clerk at Rockport IGA. The role involves various tasks related to stocking, pricing, packaging, cleaning, and product preparation within the deli-bakery department. The job requires the ability to work independently, follow instructions, and maintain a clean work area. Some tasks may involve decorating cakes, receiving deliveries, and ordering products. The position is subject to pre-employment background and drug screening.

Requirements

PAY DEPENDENT UPON EXPERIENCE
Follows proper wrapping and packaging procedure; including the use of the correct size tray and plastic wrap &/or container.
Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds.
Ability to work in temperature extremes, (frozen foods & storage cooler maximum low temperature, -10 degrees).
Follows dress code.
Follows written and oral instructions.
Follows established safety policies and procedures.
Works well with others.
Subject to pre-employment background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Rotates, stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
Correctly prices all merchandise according to departmental guidelines.
Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment.
Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Cleans all required deli-bakery department tools and equipment.
Follows proper procedure for producing all bakery/deli products.
Maintains a neat and clean work area.
Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
Orders product according to established guidelines in the absence of deli manager.
Other duties as assigned.
