About The Position

The Defense Travel Administrator (DTA) / Travel Clerk III provides administrative and technical support for the Defense Travel System (DTS) in support of Headquarters, United States Army Central (USARCENT) G-8 operations. The DTA serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day travel processing activities and provides direct support to military members, civilians, and organizational personnel utilizing DTS. The DTA is responsible for processing travel authorizations, vouchers, local vouchers, profile maintenance, traveler assistance, and compliance reviews in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) guidance, and Department of Defense travel policies. The DTA must meet all qualification and certification requirements prior to contract start and maintain required certifications throughout the period of performance.

Requirements

  • Possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting the Defense Travel System (DTS) or comparable Department of Defense travel programs.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and Department of Defense travel policies.
  • Experience processing DTS travel authorizations, vouchers, amendments, local vouchers, and profile maintenance actions.
  • Working knowledge of Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) procedures and split-disbursement requirements.
  • Ability to interpret travel regulations and apply policy guidance to routine travel scenarios.
  • Strong customer service, written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple travel actions and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and properly safeguard sensitive information and PII.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to DTS and associated government systems.
  • Active SECRET Personnel Security Clearance.
  • Current DTS training certificates or ability to obtain required certifications prior to performance.
  • Working knowledge of Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Ability to successfully pass all government access and system requirements necessary to perform contract duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 customer support for all DTS users, responding to travel-related inquiries via telephone, email, or in person.
  • Review travel authorizations, vouchers, and local vouchers for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
  • Assist travelers with DTS profile creation, profile maintenance, Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) information updates, and Lines of Accounting (LOA) validation.
  • Verify required supporting documentation, receipts, justifications, and funding information prior to routing documents for approval.
  • Coordinate with travelers, Approving Officials (AOs), Certifying Officers, Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), and other government personnel to resolve travel document discrepancies.
  • Monitor document status within DTS and assist users in resolving rejected or returned travel documents.
  • Provide assistance with travel advances, split disbursement requirements, debt management actions, and voucher corrections.
  • Maintain travel records and supporting documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and government retention requirements.
  • Support Centrally Billed Account (CBA) reconciliation efforts and assist with the identification and correction of travel-related financial discrepancies.
  • Generate recurring DTS reports and provide data to the Lead DTA and Government personnel as required.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new DTS users by providing basic DTS guidance and procedural assistance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and comply with all cybersecurity and information protection requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Lead DTA to ensure all work is completed within established processing timelines and Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs).
  • Perform other duties related to travel administration as assigned.
