About The Position

GDIT delivers critical all‑source intelligence on foreign military and civilian cyber actors, their supporting infrastructure, and the broader ecosystems in which these capabilities operate. This intelligence directly supports foundational military intelligence (FMI) requirements for the joint force and ensures alignment with the mission portfolios. On this program, GDIT provides a broad range of analytic and mission‑enabling support to produce operationally relevant FMI and scientific and technical intelligence (S&TI) for cyberspace operations. Our support is not limited to analysis; we engage across the entire intelligence cycle—planning, collection, processing, exploitation, production, and dissemination—while also executing integrated mission management functions. All support is focused on enhancing the customers’ ability to enable both defensive and offensive cyberspace operations. The Defense Industry Analyst conducts comprehensive all‑source analysis of foreign defense industrial programs, infrastructure, and capabilities that enable a nation to develop, equip, sustain, and employ its military forces. This role evaluates the full spectrum of foreign defense industrial sectors; including basic, strategic, and military production, to assess research, development, acquisition, testing, evaluation, and production activities for foreign weapon systems and equipment. The analyst examines related facilities, production output levels, emerging and enabling technologies, industrial supply chains, industrial control systems, surge capacities, cooperative agreements with foreign defense industries, and reliance on foreign technologies. This position directly supports the Defense Critical Infrastructure Program (DCIP) and DoD Warning Program by assessing threats across cyber, strategic weapon systems, terrorism, and foreign intelligence operations.

Responsibilities

Conduct all-source analysis of foreign defense industrial programs, capabilities, and infrastructure supporting military force development and sustainment.
Assess foreign research, development, acquisition, testing, evaluation, and production of weapon systems and military equipment.
Evaluate defense industrial supply chains from raw materials to finished weapon systems, including industrial processes, control systems, design cycles, and surge capacity.
Analyze cooperative arrangements with foreign defense industries and reliance on foreign technologies.
Support the Defense Critical Infrastructure Program (DCIP) through coordinated all‑source analysis of foreign strategic and military industrial sectors.
Assess threats across the full-threat spectrum, including cyber capabilities, strategic military systems, missile defense programs, domestic and transnational terrorism, and foreign intelligence operations.
Identify DCIP-related threat knowledge gaps and intelligence shortfalls involving state and non‑state cyber actors.
Validate existing collection strategies, requirements, methodologies, and counterintelligence considerations.
Develop indicators identifying intentions, capabilities, programs, and actions of potential threat actors targeting DCIP and associated networks.
Produce all-source intelligence assessments on emerging threats to global undersea cable networks and associated infrastructure, including cable landing stations.
Maintain foundational intelligence on foreign actors’ use of undersea cable infrastructure and related industrial or technological dependencies.
