About The Position

As a Defense Capture Manager, you will support and lead capture efforts within the defense market, driving the full lifecycle of opportunity pursuit from identification through award. You will be responsible for developing winning strategies, shaping customer requirements, and ensuring solution, pricing, and proposal alignment with customer priorities and competitive dynamics. You’ll work closely with technical teams and customer-facing staff to develop strong captures strategies that lead to compliant and compelling bids.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in capture management or business development within the defense or national security domain
  • Experience with DoD acquisition processes, customer missions, and the federal procurement environment, including FAR and DFARS
  • Experience supporting or contributing to successful proposals or capture efforts
  • Experience preparing capture materials or customer engagement documents
  • Ability to analyze customer data, competitor information, and market trends
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent pursuits and thrive in a fast‑paced and high‑stakes environment
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Responsibilities

  • Develop capture artifacts such as capture plans, call plans, competitor analysis, and preliminary win strategies.
  • Support customer engagement efforts, including shaping outreach, gathering customer insights, and participating in customer meetings alongside account leadership.
  • Develop win themes, discriminators, and teaming strategies.
  • Partner with solution architects and SMEs to translate customer needs into viable technical and management approaches.
  • Support the development of pricing strategies with guidance from pricing and finance teams.
  • Coordinate and lead gate reviews, status briefings, action tracking, and documentation needed throughout the capture lifecycle.
  • Assist in identifying potential teammates and subcontractors and help manage teaming documentation.
  • Facilitate the transition from capture to proposal, ensuring alignment with win strategy and customer priorities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of capture processes, tools, and best practices.
