Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in loan servicing, default resolution, or a related financial services role.
- Strong understanding of loan modification, short sale, and HUD Partial Claim processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage the end-to-end processing of loan modifications, HUD Partial Claims, and short sale closings.
- Perform advanced quality control reviews of legal and financial documents to ensure compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinate with internal departments, title companies, and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth closings.
- Review and clear title issues prior to document execution and recording.
- Ensure accurate and timely updates to Selene’s system of record, including status tracking for internal and private label clients.
- Process complex payment applications, reversals, and fee waivers in accordance with modification terms.
- Validate that financial calculations align with modification terms and system data.
- Prepare and submit documents for notarization, execution, recording, and imaging.
- Support process improvements and assist in training and mentoring Default Servicing Specialist I team members.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and contribute to audit readiness.
