About The Position

The Default Operations Team Lead is responsible for managing team workflow and guiding the daily activities of the operational team, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with client, investor, and regulatory standards. This role manages a small portfolio of files, provides hands-on support and backup to staff as needed, and serves as the first point of contact for team questions or issues. The Team Lead monitors performance metrics, trains, coaches and mentors team members, and ensures adherence to departmental procedures and client scorecard expectations. By overseeing task prioritization and workflow, the Team Lead helps maintain operational excellence and supports departmental goals and firm-wide objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, or creditor-rights operations preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a lead or supervisory support role preferred.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage team workflow to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality output.
  • Strong understanding of client scorecards, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and guide team members to improve performance and professional growth.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and operational excellence.
  • Ability to monitor team performance metrics, identify trends, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Capable of managing a small portfolio of files with accuracy and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Perfect Practice or similar case management systems preferred.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to provide hands-on support and backup during high-volume periods or staff shortages.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritize team workflow, to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on departmental procedures, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct spot-checks and quality reviews to maintain accuracy and adherence to scorecards and compliance standards.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for team questions, issues, or escalations.
  • Mentor and coach team members, providing feedback to support professional growth.
  • Ensure proper documentation and data entry in internal systems and client platforms.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and process updates for new or existing team members.
  • Escalate operational or compliance issues to your Supervisor/Manager.
  • Support team participation in audits, client requests, and departmental initiatives.
  • Identify minor workflow improvements and share suggestions with Supervisors for implementation.
  • Manage a small portfolio of files and assist as a backup to staff during short-staffed periods or high-volume situations.
  • Assist with providing client status updates, required reporting, and scorecard rebuttals as requested by your Supervisor/Manager.
