About The Position

The Deer Creek TiAl Rework Grind Trainer will be responsible for providing technical support, leadership, and continuous improvement to staff pertaining to the specific discipline all while ensuring that quality, safety, and production requirements are met. This role requires excellent communication and people skills, proficiency in computer use, and the ability to prioritize work and set up shifts according to production needs. The trainer will coach and train employees on Rework Grind techniques, ensuring adherence to work instructions and adapting training methods to different learning styles. Collaboration with supervision and the Deer Creek Training Coordinator is essential for meeting and maintaining training requirements, including regular audits, development and modification of training plans, evaluation of training materials, and delivery of exams. Accurate record-keeping, ensuring employees have the necessary tools, and promoting a harassment-free environment are also key responsibilities. The trainer must be able to work with limited supervision, perform well under pressure, address process variances, and be flexible with shift adjustments. They will promote process control, take corrective action when needed, ensure quality requirements are met, and handle first-line performance issues, escalating to supervision when necessary. The ability to learn new skills and inspect training parts for completion and adherence to Rework Grind processes is crucial. Maintaining excellent attendance is a requirement.

Requirements

  • Eligible and qualified applicants that are actively working at Deer Creek in TiAl Rework Grind.
  • Must have less than 4 unexcused absences.
  • Must not be on a written step 2 or higher within the last 12 months.
  • Must be in your current role for a minimum of one (1) year.
  • Must be TATS certified prior to training employees – if not TATS certified, must become TATS certified within two (2) weeks of being awarded the position.
  • Requires and promotes safety first for all employees.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good organization and people skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Capable of prioritizing work and shift setup in accordance with production requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a group, team, or area leader or trainer.
  • Understanding of Deer Creek system requirements.
  • Able to coordinate/plan long- and short-term production goals.
  • Demonstrated history of accurate documentation.
  • Demonstrated history of professional conduct with customers (Outside Vendors and PCC Employees).

Responsibilities

  • Identifying different learning styles and successfully delivering training using different methods.
  • Working in conjunction with supervision and Deer Creek Training Coordinator to ensure training requirements are met and maintained.
  • Regularly auditing and evaluating trainee’s work.
  • Developing and modifying training plans to ensure trainee’s success.
  • Evaluating training materials and updating as necessary.
  • Developing and delivering exams.
  • Maintaining accurate, complete, and timely training records.
  • Ensuring that employees have necessary tools to complete required tasks.
  • Promoting a harassment-free environment for all employees, contractors, and staff.
  • Working with limited direct supervision.
  • Working well under pressure.
  • Correcting deficiencies and notifying appropriate parties when a process is variant.
  • Being flexible on shift adjustment, if necessary, for business and training purposes.
  • Promoting process control within the department and taking action to determine corrective action when needed.
  • Ensuring that the quality requirements are being followed by all.
  • Handling first-line performance issues and notifying supervision when further action is required to improve performance.
  • Ability to evolve and learn new skills.
  • Inspecting all employees in training parts for completion and Rework Grind processes.
  • Maintaining excellent standing in attendance.
