About The Position

Adelphi is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide dedicated one-on-one health and care services to a student with significant medical needs at a school facility in Waldorf, Maryland. The nurse will be responsible for delivering care according to the student's healthcare plan and will maintain visual access to the student unless otherwise specified in their health or individualized education plan (IEP). The role involves collaborating with teachers and service providers to support IEP implementation, attending IEP meetings when requested, and adhering to school district policies and physician orders. The nurse will also ensure medical supplies and equipment are available and in good working order, and carry out delegated tasks related to the student's care.

Requirements

• Active MD License
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Provide medical services exclusively to the assigned student and be available to them at all times.
• Maintain visual access unless otherwise specified in the student's health or individualized education plan (IEP).
• Deliver care in a non-disruptive manner and handle any medical emergencies that arise.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to support IEP implementation.
• Attend IEP meetings to provide relevant medical information when requested.
• Adhere to all school district board policies and specific physician orders during school hours and transportation.
• Ensure that necessary medical supplies and equipment are present and in good working order.
• Carry out specific activities delegated by the teacher related to the student’s care.
• Any other duties as may be assigned.
