About The Position
Ampersand Therapy is seeking a dedicated 1:1 School Nurse (RN or LPN) for a part-time position serving preschool/kindergarten students. This role is for the Summer 2026 program and the 2026-2027 school year in Seattle, WA. The position involves providing continuous one-on-one nursing care, including during transportation, and managing specific medical needs such as tracheostomy and ventilator care. The nurse will collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to ensure the student's safety and inclusion in educational activities. Ampersand Therapy is a local, women- and therapist-founded company committed to supporting school-based specialists.
Requirements
- Valid Washington State RN or LPN license
- G-tube experience is required
- Experience working with patients with seizure disorder is required
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric or school nursing experience is highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous one-on-one nursing care throughout the school day and during transportation, as needed.
- Monitor and manage the student's tracheostomy and ventilator.
- Perform routine respiratory assessments and interventions.
- Respond appropriately to medical needs and emergencies.
- Collaborate with school personnel, family members, and healthcare providers to ensure student safety and participation in educational activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of nursing services and interventions.
- Support the student's inclusion in classroom and school activities.
