About The Position

Emler Swim and Gymnastic Schools is hiring a part-time Deck Manager to lead the team on deck and in the pool. The role supervises, supports, and trains hourly staff; coaches swim instructors; helps ensure classes run smoothly and safely; and supports students and families. The company provides training for candidates without aquatic experience, including preparation to become a certified swim professional and safety expert. The position offers opportunities to develop leadership, coaching, communication, operations, and customer-service skills, with potential to pick up additional hours as the employee grows.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Passion for working with children.
• Positive energy, strong communication skills, and a natural leadership style.
• Consistent availability, including weekday afternoons or evenings and weekends.
• Physically active and able to spend time on their feet and in the water.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, support, and train hourly staff to help ensure smooth class operations.
• Coach instructors and serve as a lead instructor, mentoring swim teachers to deliver safe, engaging, high-quality lessons.
• Observe and encourage the progress of students of all ages in the pool.
• Support families and help customers feel confident and cared for.
• Assist with scheduling, performance evaluations, and enrollment goals.
• Model and enforce safety standards for staff and students.
