About The Position

Emler Swim and Gymnastic Schools is hiring a part-time Deck Manager / Team Manager to lead staff and support swim lesson operations. The role involves guiding, supervising, supporting, and training hourly staff; coaching swim instructors; and helping deliver safe, engaging, high-quality lessons. The Deck Manager also encourages students’ progress, supports families, and assists with scheduling, performance evaluations, and enrollment goals. The position promotes a safety-first environment for staff and students. No prior aquatic experience is required; training is provided to become a certified swim professional and safety expert. The role offers leadership development and opportunities to learn about business operations, customer service, team growth, and school culture. The position remains open for up to 30 days from the posting date or until filled.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Passion for working with children.
Positive energy, strong communication skills, and a natural leadership style.
Available for a consistent schedule, including weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends.
Physically active and able to spend time on their feet, in the water, and moving around.
No aquatic experience is required; training is provided.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the team on deck and in the pool, supporting and training hourly staff to ensure smooth class operations.
Coach instructors and serve as a lead instructor, mentoring swim teachers to deliver safe, engaging, high-quality lessons.
Observe and encourage students’ progress in the pool across age groups.
Support families and help ensure customers feel confident and cared for.
Assist with scheduling, performance evaluations, and enrollment goals.
Model and enforce safety standards for staff and students.
