About The Position

This summer internship is designed to give students experience. The intern creates custom deck designs from customer requests and drawings, and maintains a log of completed work. The role also supports maintenance of the 84 Website and assists with other department functions, including copying blueprints, creating materials lists, and maintaining package lists.

Requirements

• Spreadsheet and design software skills.
• Word-processing skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and effectively present information to others one-on-one.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions, and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables and standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Create custom designs using design software from customer drawings for garages, pole buildings, and decks.
• Maintain a log of work completed.
• Assist with creating materials lists and maintaining package lists.
• Communicate by phone and email with store associates.
• Assist with website maintenance as required.
• Assist with department functions, including copying blueprints.
