About The Position
The Deck Ambassador is the main point of contact for families at the pool. You will welcome families, assist with check in, answer questions, support instructors, and help each shift run smoothly. You will also maintain a safe, clean, and organized pool environment while providing strong customer service. This is a part time position reporting to the Aquatics Manager and Franchise Owner.
Requirements
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Dependable, organized, and punctual
- Comfortable speaking with parents, children, and staff
- Able to manage several responsibilities during a busy shift
- Professional and responsible conduct
- Basic computer and mobile device skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as scheduled
Nice To Haves
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, childcare, recreation, or aquatics
- Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, or AED certification, which may also be obtained during training
- Experience working with children and families
- Familiarity with scheduling or customer management systems
Responsibilities
- Arrive 30 to 45 minutes before lessons to prepare the pool area
- Set up equipment, signage, attendance materials, and the welcome area
- Check the pool temperature and chemical readings and record them in the pool log
- Welcome families and assist students with check in
- Confirm attendance and update student records
- Answer questions about schedules, payments, makeup classes, and program policies
- Help new families understand how lessons work
- Support instructors before, during, and after lessons
- Monitor the pool deck and waiting area for safety and cleanliness
- Communicate schedule changes and customer concerns to management
- Encourage families to continue lessons and share referral opportunities
- Assist with enrollment and class scheduling when needed
- Return equipment to the correct location after lessons
- Complete closing duties and leave the pool area clean and organized
