About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Deburrer. The core hours are 5:30am to 2:00pm. The hourly rate for this position is 27.95 per hour. Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum 2 years experience in machining, deburring, honing or lapping parts or in fabrication in a manufacturing environment.
  • Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of the Los Angeles, CA facility (zip code 90039) to be considered.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds often.
  • Ability to learn equipment and processes for fabrication of aerospace parts, produce parts in accordance with the production plans, sketches and/or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to maintain close tolerance dimensions on critical parts.
  • Knowledge of dimensional measuring instrumentations and use of such tools to verify actual measurements of machined dimensions and features.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, manufacturing routings, procedures, and routers.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Ability to logically solve problems and to keep assignments and projects moving in an orderly and structured fashion.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace experience preferred.
  • 3 plus years experience in machining, deburring, honing or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment
  • Involvement in successful process definition and re-engineering.
  • Experience in employee involvement in multi-discipline teaming.
  • Proficiency with computer based methods and tools.
  • Familiarity /experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodology.
  • Familiar with machines tools, production methods and shop practices preferred.
  • Familiarity with SPC principles and methods.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using the appropriate measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, air gages and comparators.
  • Interprets plans, work order, blueprints or drawings to determine the necessary bench operations.
  • Uses basic measuring tools, air guns and other power tools for use in bench operations.
  • Finishes all materials to close tolerance with supervision.
  • Examines surface of work piece for defects.
  • Secures work piece to bench or table and guides abrasive polishing wheel over work piece to remove scratches and other defects from metal surfaces to the specification.
  • Selects grade of abrasive belt, wheel, or disk according to specifications, knowledge of abrasives and condition of metal and attaches to grinder.
  • Polishes machined areas with abrasive to reduce smooth, unmarred surface.
  • Replaces worn abrasive disks, wheels and belts as necessary.
  • Interprets specifications and blueprints, holding close tolerances, inspection and acceptance of parts as a certified operator.
  • Performs first article inspection and in-process quality checks.
  • Requires use of all common basic fabrication equipment and inspection tooling/gauges.
  • Optimizes production by performing secondary work such as running multiple machines, deburring, vibratory, and any hand work as well as preparing for the next job, organizing and cleaning the cell, and performs preventive maintenance and helping others while machines are running.
