Deburr Technician, Machining (Starship)
About The Position

This role involves deburring and processing machined valve components, interpreting drawings to maintain part specifications, polishing tight tolerance surface finishes, and assisting with material inventory. The technician will also operate a mass finishing barrel tumbler and contribute to maintaining a clean and efficient work environment while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of professional work experience in a factory/production environment; or the completion of a machining certification
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of deburr experience using various deburr techniques using manual and automated equipment
- Experience working in a machine shop
- Experience with basic blueprint reading
- Knowledge of CNC machining
- Experience using various measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, profilometers, and borescopes
Responsibilities
- Deburr and process machined valve components in post-machining
- Interpret drawings per ASME Y14.5-2009 standard to maintain part specifications
- Chase machine cut threads to size if necessary
- Polish tight tolerance surface finishes and inspect with profilometer
- Wash parts that have gone through the deburr process and passivate using citric passivation
- Assist with material inventory and prepare hardware for machining processes
- Operate a mass finishing barrel tumbler using given recipes for specific parts and materials
- Meet expectations for productivity and production goals
- Maintain a clean and efficient work environment
- Keep products consistently moving and alert management when production is inhibited
- Provide ideas for continuous process improvements
