About The Position

Howmet Aerospace is now hiring Deburring/Finish Operator. This role involves removing burrs from machined surfaces and creating either an edge break or radius using automated equipment and/or hand tools. The position offers a competitive starting pay of $18, with potential increases after training and shift differentials. External hires are eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus and excellent benefits, including insurance from day one and a competitive 401K plan. The job also requires the ability to train on 1st shift, with specific details about 3rd shift hours and pay.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Math skills, including decimal and fractions; simple use of formulas
  • Ability to read blueprints/schematics/drawings and charts tables
  • Use of measuring tools and equipment
  • Ability to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes.
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions, prescribed routines, methods and practices.
  • Checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to lawfully obtain access to export-controlled items.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of Manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Remove burrs from machined surfaces and create either an edge break or radius using automated equipment and/or hand tools.
  • Buff oxidation off parts prior to weld operation.
  • Remove weld flush using hand tools or machine.
  • Mark serial/part numbers as required using hand tools or dot peen marking machine.
  • Send parts through water flow.
  • Power wash or ultrasonic clean parts as required.
  • Perform first piece inspection.
  • Support production needs in other areas as required.
