About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for assisting with the collection of the late-stage collections debtors ledger. The purpose of this position is to maximize recovery rates against existing doubtful and written-off debts by utilizing and measuring the effectiveness of a suite of debt recovery tools, strategies, and external agencies. This role requires the incumbent to remain flexible within a very busy and high-pressure environment.

Requirements

• Sound communication skills both written and verbal.
• Intermediate skill in the use of MS Office Software Suite.
• Knowledge of debt recovery processes within both commercial and consumer credit.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of bankruptcy/liquidation/court procedures/legal system and related matters.
• Understand impact and consequences of the risk assessment outcome.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role or administrative role within a professional environment is desirable.
• Knowledge of Equifax property and credit searches.

Responsibilities

• Execute the late-stage collection recovery strategies by utilizing appropriate resources and recording success.
• Liaise with external legal representatives and debt collection agents to issue instructions on caveats, legal action, track progress of recovery, provide additional information and respond to queries.
• Responsible for identifying and dealing with discrepancies through to resolution.
• Analyze legal costs, debtors' assets & liabilities to assess prospect of recoverability versus loss in order to maintain appropriate financial ratios and commercial outcomes.
• Manage the payment of legal costs and on charge to Member accounts.
• Organize, manage repossessions of equipment and discharge of security.
