Requirements

  • Active law license in the listed state of reference. (California)
  • 5-7 years of civil litigation experience; debt collection experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2 years in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated case analysis ability and a track record of proven settlement skills
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, train, coach, and mentor
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in internet and online research
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, printer, scanner, and computer
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation usage
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills with an eye for details
  • Ability to be flexible to adapt and act quickly when urgent matters require it
  • Ability to work and maintain patience with diversified individuals of various ethnic backgrounds and professional competencies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to represent the company in various forums to foster the desires and image of the company in the community

Responsibilities

  • Manage state-specific litigation workflows and litigation forms.
  • Conduct document review and discovery.
  • Execute documents requiring the Attorney’s signature.
  • Communicate with the Managing Attorney and clients to discuss details of cases.
  • Assist in responding to litigation-specific components of all client audits.
  • Monitor relevant legal rules, regulations, statutes, and case law.
  • Conduct research and analysis of legal problems.
  • Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.
  • Prepare and file legal documents.
  • Manage and resolve collection litigation.
  • Work with Pro Se litigants, opposing counsel, or other interested parties to settle files throughout the litigation process.
  • Oversee and interact with outside collections and defense counsel.
  • Support corporate compliance with laws and regulations governing debt collection and related activities.
