About The Position

A premier national law firm is seeking a Debt Finance Associate Attorney to join its Houston office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing lenders, borrowers, private equity sponsors, financial institutions, and investment funds in sophisticated financing transactions.

Requirements

3–6 years of debt finance, leveraged finance, banking & finance, or commercial finance experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
Experience representing banks, financial institutions, direct lenders, private credit funds, private equity sponsors, and corporate borrowers
Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Excellent academic credentials
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
Texas bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Nice To Haves

Experience working on private equity-backed financings, corporate finance transactions, and cross-border financings is preferred

Responsibilities

Representing lenders, borrowers, private equity sponsors, financial institutions, and investment funds in sophisticated financing transactions.
Handling leveraged acquisition financings, syndicated credit facilities, asset-based lending, cash flow lending, refinancing transactions, and other secured lending matters.
Drafting and negotiating credit agreements, commitment letters, security agreements, guaranties, intercreditor agreements, collateral documents, and other financing documents.
Managing financing transactions from due diligence through closing.
Working on private equity-backed financings, corporate finance transactions, and cross-border financings.
Maintaining significant client interaction.
Managing sophisticated transactions independently.
