About The Position

The Dean of the Arnot Ogden School of Nursing and Radiologic Technology provides strategic, academic, and operational leadership to advance excellence in nursing and radiologic technology education aligned with the health system's mission and workforce needs. This role oversees curriculum development, faculty leadership, accreditation, student success, and regulatory compliance while fostering strong clinical-academic partnerships within the hospital environment. The Dean ensures graduates are practice-ready, supports innovation in education, and contributes to the development of a highly skilled nursing and radiology technology workforce that delivers exceptional patient care. Reports to Arnot Health Chief Nursing Officer.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree required; PhD in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of New York.
  • Progressive leadership experience in within an accredited school or college of nursing, with a minimum of five years' experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in or closely with healthcare systems, clinical partners, or academic-practice partnership
  • Knowledge of nursing accreditation bodies (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology) and state regulatory requirements.
  • Evidence of scholarly engagement, professional service, and commitment to advancing nursing education.

Responsibilities

  • Provides visionary and executive leadership for the School of Nursing and School of Radiologic Technology, aligning academic programs with the Centralus mission, values, and workforce strategy.
  • Leads strategic planning initiatives that support program growth, innovation, accreditation, readiness, and long-term sustainability of school.
  • Develops and sustains a strategic nursing and radiologic technology workforce pipeline by aligning enrollment, clinical placement capacity, and graduate transition-to-practice pathways with the current and future staffing needs of the hospital system.
  • Oversees recruitment, retention, admission, progression, and graduation of a diverse student body, ensuring a strong pipeline of practice-ready professionals.
  • Partners with Marketing and Communications to develop and execute strategic outreach, branding, and recruitment initiatives that effectively promote the School of Nursing and Radiologic Technology programs, enhance program visibility, and support enrollment growth and community awareness.
  • Ensures academic excellence through oversight of curriculum development, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement across all nursing programs.
  • Maintains compliance with state boards of nursing and radiology, accrediting bodies, and regulatory agencies, serving as the primary academic liaison for accreditation processes.
  • Recruits, develops, evaluates, and retains qualified faculty and academic leaders and staff, fostering a culture of mentorship, scholarship, and teaching excellence.
  • Provides operational and administrative oversight including budgeting, resource allocation, space planning, and fiscal stewardship.
  • Partners with hospital nursing and clinical leadership to align clinical education, simulation, and practice expectations with current care delivery models.
  • Promotes interprofessional education and collaboration with medical staff, allied health programs, and hospital departments to enhance team-based care competencies.
  • Advances a positive, inclusive, and values-driven academic culture that supports student well-being, faculty engagement, and professional development.
  • Identifies and pursues external funding opportunities, grants, and philanthropic support to enhance academic programs, simulation, and innovation.
  • Strengthens relationships with internal and external stakeholders including health system leaders, community partners, academic institutions, and professional organizations.
  • Oversees student support services, advising, and academic success initiatives to promote engagement, retention, and licensure success.
  • Represents the School of Nursing and School of Radiologic Technology at system, regional, and professional forums, serving as an advocate for nursing and radiologic technology education and workforce development.
  • Utilizes data and outcomes metrics (e.g., NCLEX and ARRT pass rates, retention, employment outcomes) to inform decision-making and demonstrate program effectiveness).
  • Is responsible for attending all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position.
  • Employee understands and demonstrates the importance of satisfying the needs of the customer/patient by interacting with him/her in a friendly and caring way, being attentive to the customer's needs, both psychologically and physically, and by taking the initiative to maintain communication with the customer in order to provide a secure and pleasant experience with the Medical Center.
