The Dean of Students serves as part of the school’s leadership team to provide direct services to students with a pattern of disruptive behaviors using positive behavioral supports with the intent of preventing out-of-school disciplinary placement. In addition, the Dean of Students facilitates and provides technical assistance to campus staff for the delivery of a comprehensive system of support for students with high-risk behavior through the MTSS Model utilizing proactive and preventive measures to ensure the behavioral success of students. The Dean of Students will coordinate, facilitate, and provide behavior interventions through the MTSS process. Participate in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) meetings to provide recommendations regarding adjustments to student behavioral intervention plans. In addition to providing support in the areas of pro-social behavior, discipline, and attendance, the Dean of Students will provide professional development and guidance for teachers to improve their knowledge and skills with classroom management, engaging students in learning, and building positive relationships that promote student success.
